I'm writing to you with regards to the upcoming KLOC (Pre-Worlds) to be hosted in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. We would like to increase the participation of international teams at our tournament this year by reaching out to as many continents as possible. Unfortunately, one of the more difficult regions is the Americas and we thought who better to seek assistance from than yourself We hope you would be able to assist in spreading the word or guiding us on how we can reach debate societies/ unions in the Americas. Below is a summary of the tournament.

The tournament will be held as follows: Date: 22nd-24th December 2014 Venue: APU@TPM, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Registration Fee : MYR310 (With 3D2N Accommodation)

For this year's edition of KLOC, we are working closely with the organisers of Malaysia Worlds to ensure the tournament if of the best possible calibre in order to better facilitate the tournament as a development & training platform.

KLOC 2013 was a successful pre-worlds tournament with Amit Golder, Sadhana Rai & Valeri Inting on the Adj Core (More information about this can be found at www.kloc2013.wordpress.com). Our subsidised adjudicators included Madeline Schultz, Ravi Dutta & Dave Maher.

For KLOC 2014, The adjudication core currently consists of Sharmila Parmanand from The Philippines (Berlin Worlds Co-CA) & Vihasini Gopakumar from Singapore (UADC 2014 Champion). We are in the process of finalising the candidates for the Adjudication Core from Oceania, Malaysia, Europe & the Americas and will release the names as soon as possible.

In order to ensure an exceptional experience, we have allocated MYR10,000 to subsidies for adjudicators. We will be working closely to optimise the utilisation of this fund with Malaysia Worlds to bring in as many of the Worlds subsidised adjudicators as possible to KLOC 2014.

As participants of KLOC 2014, you will also be able to benefit from the agreement between Malaysia Worlds & the One World Alliance for flight discounts on all flights through the duration from the 20th of December 2014 to 12th January 2015.

American Teams Debate Policy with Iran in front of Foreign Policy Experts

The teams will debate whether or not the United States should use military force against Iran if nuclear diplomacy fails. The debate will be followed by comments from Dr. Colin Kahl , senior fellow and director of the Middle East Security Program at CNAS, and a moderated Q&A with the debate teams. CNAS is excited to host this event to support our mission to elevate and shape the debate on this key national security issue and promote the next generation of national security leaders.
