First Italian National Debate Tournament to be held in September in Padua




The Association for the Promotion and Culture of Debate, A.C.P.D. “Palestra di Botta e Risposta” and the University of Padua are proud to announce the first Italian National Debate Tournament.

Held in Padua from 5th to 7th of September, the tournament involves teams from Massa Carrara, Padua, Rome, Udine and Vicenza in switch-side debates and on mixed round robin and eliminatory basis.

Motions are:
  • Images of women in advertising should be more realistic
  • Technology will ensure equal opportunities of access to education
  • The precautionary principle is more disadvantageous than convenient
  • The Ten Commandments are still valid principles

Kuala Lumpur Open Challenge 2014 - Pre Malaysia WUDC Tournament

We would like to increase the participation of international teams at our tournament this year by reaching out to as many continents as possible. American Teams Debate Policy with Iran in front of Foreign Policy Experts

Michigan won the debate 5-0 http://www.cnas.org/event/debate/war-with-iran#.U5s7f5RdUSe The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) and the Civis Institute invite you to attend a public debate on June 13, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Two of the country's top collegiate debate programs - Georgetown University and the University of Michigan - will square off on one of the most contested foreign policy issues of our day. The teams will debate whether or not the United States should use military force against Iran if nuclear diplomacy fails. The debate will be followed by comments from Dr. Colin Kahl , senior fellow and director of the Middle East Security Program at CNAS, and a moderated Q&A with the debate teams. CNAS is excited to host this event to support our mission to elevate and shape the debate on this key national security issue and promote the next generation of national security leaders.
