WSDC Singapore 2015 Newsletter #1


Dear WSDC community,

On behalf of the Co-Conveners and Co-Chief Adjudicators of WSDC 2015, I am pleased to announce the launch of Newsletter #1 for WSDC 2015.

The Co-Conveners, Mark Gabriel and Evelyn Woels, have included important information about the registration process for teams. Nations planning to participate in the tournament should read that section carefully.

The Co-Chief Adjudicators of WSDC 2015, Tracey Lee and Vernie Oliveiro, have also included with this newsletter their first update. Please read the update for information on how you may apply to be a member of the Chief Adjudication Panel or to attend WSDC 2015 as an independent adjudicator. Nations should also note that the co-CAs are asking each country to have at least one adjudicator attached to their delegation register for the tournament by February 9th. Please see the CAs' Update for more information.

The Co-Convenors, the Co-CAs, and the organizing committee in Singapore wish all happy holidays!

American Teams Debate Policy with Iran in front of Foreign Policy Experts

Michigan won the debate 5-0 http://www.cnas.org/event/debate/war-with-iran#.U5s7f5RdUSe The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) and the Civis Institute invite you to attend a public debate on June 13, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Two of the country's top collegiate debate programs - Georgetown University and the University of Michigan - will square off on one of the most contested foreign policy issues of our day. The teams will debate whether or not the United States should use military force against Iran if nuclear diplomacy fails. The debate will be followed by comments from Dr. Colin Kahl , senior fellow and director of the Middle East Security Program at CNAS, and a moderated Q&A with the debate teams. CNAS is excited to host this event to support our mission to elevate and shape the debate on this key national security issue and promote the next generation of national security leaders.

Kuala Lumpur Open Challenge 2014 - Pre Malaysia WUDC Tournament

We would like to increase the participation of international teams at our tournament this year by reaching out to as many continents as possible. Unfortunately, one of the more difficult regions is the Americas and we thought who better to seek assistance from than yourself We hope you would be able to assist in spreading the word or guiding us on how we can reach debate societies/ unions in the Americas. Below is a summary of the tournament.
