USA Policy Debate Demographic Survey

Allison Harper, Beth Schueler and Paul Mabrey have created a college policy debate survey to better understand demographics of the college policy debate community and attitudes toward contemporary college policy debate practices. The survey is targeted for current or former college policy debaters, coaches, graduate students and alumni. The link is below. First Italian National Debate Tournament to be held in September in Padua

The Association for the Promotion and Culture of Debate, A.C.P.D. “Palestra di Botta e Risposta” and the University of Padua are proud to announce the first Italian National Debate Tournament. Held in Padua from 5th to 7th of September, the tournament involves teams from Massa Carrara, Padua, Rome, Udine and Vicenza in switch-side debates and on mixed round robin and eliminatory basis. WDI & WSDC Thailand to Live Stream WSDC 2014 Semis & Finals

The World Debate Institute and WSDC Thailand will come together to provide live video stream s of the semifinal and final debates from the 2014 World Schools Debating Championship being held in Thailand. "I am pleased that TJ Senamngern, convener of WSDC 2014, has been able to cooperate with us in order to make this possible," said World Debate Institute director Alfred Snider of the University of Vermont . "We have a lot of streaming experience, since we did the first live stream debate ever in 1999, and TJ can provide the facilities and connectivity that we need. We also have a long history of working with him on global debate events." The debates will be live streamed at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/world-debate-live The test on Tuesday of the system worked well. The semifinals will be at Noon Bangkok time on 13 August 2014.
