USA Policy Debate Topic Choices for 2014-15

Below are the resolutions approved to be on the ballot for the 2014-2015 academic debate year, with some minor editing. We will put in thematic/size order (as we perceive them) and alphabetize areas within each resolution for the official ballot.
1. Resolved: The United States should legalize all or nearly all of one or more of the following in the United States: marihuana, prostitution, online gambling, the sale of human organs, physician assisted suicide.
2. Resolved: The United States should legalize all or nearly all of one or more of the following in the United States: prostitution, online gambling, the sale of human organs, physician assisted suicide, marihuana, cathinone, heroin, peyote, LSD, cocaine, MDMA, methamphetamine.
3. Resolved: The United States should eliminate all or nearly all legal prohibitions or criminal penalties on one or more of the following in the United States: marihuana; prostitution; online gambling; the sale of human organs; physician assisted suicide; the transmission, exposure, and nondisclosure of the human immunodeficiency virus.
4. Resolved: The United States should eliminate all or nearly all legal prohibitions or criminal penalties on one or more of the following in the United States: marihuana, prostitution, online gambling, the sale of human organs, physician assisted suicide, abortion.
5. Resolved: The United States should eliminate all or nearly all legal prohibitions on one or more of the following in the United States: marihuana, prostitution, online gambling, the sale of human organs, physician assisted suicide; and/or the United States should eliminate all or nearly all de facto criminalization of bodies of color, gender non-conformity and/or homelessness.
6. Resolved: The United States should legalize all or nearly all of one or more of the following in the United States: prostitution, online gambling, the sale of human organs, physician assisted suicide, insider trading, marihuana, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine.
7. Resolved: The United States federal government should eliminate all or nearly all legal prohibitions or criminal penalties on one or more of the following in the United States: insider trading; prostitution; online gambling; the sale of human organs; physician assisted suicide; marihuana; cathinone; heroin; peyote; LSD; cocaine; MDMA; methamphetamine; abortion; the transmission, exposure, and nondisclosure of the human immunodeficiency virus.
8. Resolved: The United States federal government should eliminate all or nearly all legal prohibitions or criminal penalties on one or more of the following in the United States: insider trading; prostitution; online gambling; the sale of human organs; physician assisted suicide; marihuana; cathinone; heroin; peyote; LSD; cocaine; MDMA; methamphetamine; abortion; the transmission, exposure, and nondisclosure of the human immunodeficiency virus; and/or the United States federal government should eliminate all or nearly all de facto criminalization of bodies of color, gender non-conformity and/or homelessness in the United States.
9. Resolved: The United States federal government should legalize one or more of the following in the United States: prostitution, online gambling, the sale of human organs, physician assisted suicide, marihuana, cathinone, heroin, peyote, LSD, cocaine, MDMA, methamphetamine.
10. Resolved: One or more consensual crimes in the United States should be legalized.
